Set on a sloping site overlooking the river, this three-story, 350-square-meter residence is conceived as a sequence of carefully framed views, dramatic spatial transitions, and private living environments.
The main living level is organized into two distinct wings. One accommodates the formal living area and open-plan kitchen, while the opposite wing contains a television lounge and library. At the center, a double-height foyer serves as the primary circulation core, visually connecting the different levels and revealing the overall geometry of the residence. Each principal space opens onto a central terrace oriented toward the river.
The upper level is divided by a bridge spanning the double-height foyer. The primary bedroom occupies one side, while a generous private office is positioned opposite, opening onto a terrace with an intimate garden.
Along the public-facing elevation, the residence maintains a strong sense of privacy. Openings are deliberately limited, with a single expansive window introducing natural light into the central foyer. From the driveway, visitors are greeted by a sculptural, monolithic water feature that creates a dramatic transition toward the entrance. A private walkway of stepping stones appears to float above gravel submerged beneath a shallow layer of water.
At the end of this procession, a carefully positioned window frames one of the owner’s sports cars within the garage, transforming it into an unexpected architectural focal point. Turning the corner toward the entrance, the compressed approach gives way to the dramatic scale of the double-height foyer, where the architecture opens to frame expansive views of the river.
Upon entering, the floor plan unfolds in a V-shaped configuration, following the geometry of the site and embracing the landscape from a wider perspective. The two wings extend toward the river, maximizing visual connections between the interior spaces and their natural surroundings.
The interiors are defined by a restrained yet warm material language. Ipe wood extends across floors, walls, and ceilings, with the grain carefully aligned throughout the residence to reinforce the angular relationship between the two wings.
The natural richness of the wood is complemented by black metal detailing and slender black-framed glazing. Slate-gray stone fireplaces, exposed concrete structural walls, and black stucco surfaces provide additional depth and contrast, creating a cohesive palette that moves seamlessly between interior and exterior spaces.
On the lower level, three bedrooms open directly onto a sun terrace and a covered outdoor dining area with a fireplace, creating a private retreat closely connected to the landscape.
