The 350 Square Meters house has 3 bedrooms at the ground floor, formal living and open kitchen on one wing while there is a TV area and a library on the opposing wing. At the middle, the double height foyer functions as main circulation core and a visual connection with the architecture of the entire residence. On the side of the public road and exposure, the residence offers extreme privacy while the only opening is the large window that brings light into the central foyer. Approaching the entry from the driveway we face a large sculptural monolithic water feature that offers a dramatic transition to the entry through a private walkway on stepping stones floating over gravel submerged in a shallow layer of water, at the end of which, is famed the view of one of the owner’s sports cars through a window looking into the garage. When we turn the corner, there is a sudden change of scale when the double height ceiling foyers open, to frame the views of the river.

Once entering the house, the floorplan opens in a V shape to frame the embrace the view of the river at a wider angle that matches the site boundaries.

Interiors are characterized by a minimal yet warm treatment with Ipe flooring, walls and ceilings connecting with matching grain and direction throughout the residence to emphasize the angle between the two wings.

The material palette chosen is the natural ipe wood combined with black metal trims and black glazing frames. Accents are provided by slate gray stone fireplaces concrete structural walls and black stucco interior-exterior walls.

At the basement the 3 bedrooms open up to a sun deck and a covered dining area with fireplace.
